Account Information

When you sign in using Apple ID or Email, we collect information needed to create and authenticate your account, such as your email address and account identifiers.

Pet Profile and App Data

To provide pet weight-management features, we collect information you choose to enter about your pets, including:

  • pet name
  • species
  • breed
  • sex
  • neuter/spay status
  • age or date of birth
  • activity level
  • weight logs
  • feeding logs
  • reminders
  • Body Condition Score (BCS) assessments
  • notes and other pet-related entries you create in the App

Pet Photos

If you choose to upload a pet avatar or photo, we collect and store that image so it can be displayed in the App and, where applicable, shared with members of your household inside the App.

Subscription Information

If you purchase a Pro subscription, subscription status and purchase validation information are processed through Apple and our subscription service provider.

Usage and Diagnostics Data

We collect analytics and diagnostic information about how the App is used, such as screen views, feature usage, performance events, and crash or reliability-related signals, to help us improve the App.

Notification Data

If you enable notifications, we collect your push notification token and notification preferences so we can send reminders and household activity notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • create and manage your account
  • authenticate you and keep the App secure
  • calculate feeding recommendations and weight-management plans
  • display pet profiles, avatars, charts, reports, and history
  • enable household collaboration features
  • deliver reminders and notifications if you opt in
  • provide subscription features and validate Pro access
  • generate exportable reports such as PDF or CSV exports when requested
  • analyze app usage, improve features, and diagnose technical issues
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the App, including:

  • Supabase for database storage, authentication, server functions, and file storage
  • RevenueCat for subscription management and in-app purchase validation
  • Expo Notifications or related push infrastructure for delivering notifications
  • PostHog and similar analytics tooling for app analytics and product improvement

These providers process information only as needed to provide services to us.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • with service providers who help us operate the App
  • when you use household-sharing features, with other authorized household members inside the App
  • if required by law, legal process, or valid government request
  • to protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of our users, services, or business
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections

5. Data Retention

We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide the App and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your information from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain limited data for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or billing-related reasons.

You may request deletion of your account directly within the App settings.

When your account deletion request is processed, your account and associated data in our active systems will be removed, subject to limited retention where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or billing purposes.

  • request deletion of your information

8. Children's Privacy

Paws & Pounds is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will delete it.

Paws & Pounds is designed to assist with pet weight management and wellness tracking. It does not provide veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice.

Any feeding guidance, weight analysis, BCS assessment, report, or recommendation provided by the App is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International Users

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last Updated" date above.
