Ragdoll-specific notes at this weight

Ragdolls are large, muscular, semi-longhaired cats that keep growing until about age four. A weight that looks "heavy" on the scale can still be ideal if ribs are easy to feel under a light fat cover and a waist is visible from above. Because they are often calm indoor pets, free-feeding dry food is a common source of slow weight creep.

A fluffy Ragdoll coat can hide waist definition. Always combine a hands-on rib check with a top-down view after gently parting the fur — do not judge body condition from coat fluff alone.

Most adult Ragdolls do well on a neutered-indoor multiplier (~1.2 × RER) once growth finishes. Recheck calories after spay/neuter — energy needs often drop 20–30%.

Ideal adult range: male 1220 lb, female 915 lb. Confirm with the cat BCS tool.
